Does anyone else find it hilarious that I’m full of good ideas for this occasion that I will not be celebrating? However, I know love is in the air out there somewhere, and I’m here to help. And so is the Belmont Hotel. In addition to the Love Is in the Air package—which includes chocolates, a custom candle, two complimentary Valentinis, continental breakfast in bed, and a 1 pm late checkout for $139-$229—the hotel is also offering a special cupid Valentine delivery service. The Belmont Cupid–a lucky, dressed-up Belmont employee, I’m guessing–will deliver a note to your sweetie tableside or to your room. (This is first-come, first-served, because there are only so many hours in the Valentine’s night.) You can also dine and drink the night away before retiring to your suite. The Cliff Cafe is featuring a special set menu for $30 per person–bloody Mary shrimp appetizer, mixed green salad, and filet with orange fennel crust, mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus, followed by bananas Foster for dessert–and Miss Marcy and her Texas SugarDaddy’s are performing classic blues and contemporary jazz from 7-10 pm at BarBelmont. Gentlemen, I have just done all of your work for you. You’re officially out of excuses.
