The Scoop: The Grove at Harwood Reopens, Midnight Rambler Revamps Menu, and More

The Grove at Harwood reopens for 2018 season: The Grove at Harwood has reopened for the 2018 season and is offering a new menu. Standout items include: fire-roasted guacamole with smoked onions and tomatoes; house-made pimento cheese and crackers; a Paradise Po’Boy made with certified angus brisket, local tomatoes, lettuce, onion, creole sauce; and the Diggity Dog with house-smoked sausage, pickles, mustard, and ketchup. The Grove at Harwood is open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Uchibā to host Uncommon Ramen series with chef Callie Speer of Holy Roller: Uchibā chef Alex Astrani is teaming up with Callie Speer of Holy Roller for the first installment of the 2018 Uncommon Ramen series. The guest chef pop-up has featured talent like Stephan Pyles and John Tesar as well as pitmaster Aaron Franklin. Future chef collaborations include chefs Jen Jesinski, Tommy Lee, Blaine Staniford, Kathrine Caine, Jonathan Thompson, and Omar Flores. The 2018 kickoff event is taking place on Monday, April 30 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Specialty ramen and the full menu are available. A portion of the proceeds benefits Promise of Peace Gardens. Chef Justin Box to host fundraiser at Trinity Groves on Tuesday, May 1: Head to Trinity Groves to support a good cause. Justin Box is throwing a fundraiser to help out Phoenix, a six year old boy from Athens, Texas, who is battling a bone infection. Tickets costs $55 to $80 and include food, coffee, and cocktails. Midnight Rambler releases new cocktail menu: Midnight Rambler’s spring 2018 cocktail menu, inspired by the Pagan “Rites of Spring,” is ready for sipping. New drinks include:

Ostara (named for Ostara, the Celtic goddess of spring): Rosolio, bergamot, lavender, vanilla, sparkling brut rosé.

Mad as a March Hare: tequila blanco, bianco vermouth, cucumber, dill, lemon, carrot soda.

Sippin’ Sap All Day: Texas rye whiskey, birch, maple, pippali, Angostura.
