Sandoitchi Pop-Up Returns to Dallas for a Day of Sandos and Pizza

All the sando goodness will go down in Victory Park. Almost as certain as sandos: one helluva line.

The pop-up that enamored Dallas last year—before enrapturing many other U.S. cities—will return. Sandoitchi is back again, but just for one day.

Sandoitchi will station in Victory Park at Mad Pie (2420 Victory Lane) for a single-day pop-up on Saturday, May 22 at noon.

Operations manager Keith Tran says “engagement has already been crazy,” so expect nothing less than a busy day. It’s first come, first served, so no preorders this time around (and cashless payment only). Line up early if you want a bite of those covetable Japanese sandos. There will be the classic katsu and egg salad sandos on pillow-soft milk bread slices.

In addition to the sandos and the snacks that you’re used to, Sandoitchi will collaborate on pizza with its host, Mad Pie, a Victory Park newcomer that recently opened in the former PopBar space this month. “We always like to challenge ourselves,” says Tran on adding a first-ever pizza to their sando-packed menu.

For those in need of a refresher, Sandoitchi is the brainchild of Tran, marketing director Andy Sirois, business partner Angel Acosta, and culinary force of nature Stevie Nguyen. Originally from Louisiana, Nguyen worked at Uchi in Houston, then moved to Dallas to work at Uchi here. After stints in New York City at Morimoto and David Chang’s Michelin-starred Momofuku Ko, he took a position at Niwa in Deep Ellum where the Sandoitchi story began. Hence, our perpetual crush on Japanese sandos.

Godspeed, y’all.
