After less than 600 cases on Monday, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,716 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths.

Rising COVID-19 cases are adding pressure on hospitals, as leaders worry that they could fill up in the next 30 days. Though they can usually flex to include more beds, there may not be staff to treat all the patients. KERA has more.

Hospital, EMS, nursing home, and home health workers will most likely be the first ones to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it is ready, the Dallas Morning News reports. A Texas health department recommendation has released details about who will get the vaccine first.

Outside of DFW, 13 outlying North Texas counties recorded record highs for new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, part of Texas’ record 13,988 new COVID-19 cases statewide, WFAA reports.
