Ben Rogers handily defeated his radio partner, Jeff “Skin” Wade, on ESPN Radio’s Ben and Skin Show in today’s first-round matchup. Ben came out on top, 407 to 256. Here is his take on the match:
Ben, a self-described “handsome Jedi Scrabble veteran”, took advantage of Skin’s awkward baby-deer’s-first-walk style rookie outing with an exceedingly well-placed 125-point word — “ENJOYS” — just before halftime (now we know why Rick Carlisle hates playing rookies). Ben’s starters rested the entire second half and plenty of trash was talked as the game wrapped up at a Thai restaurant near Valley Ranch. Ben is now looking forward to playing Easy Eddie D, Scott Murray or whoever is on deck for Round 2. Skin may never recover. Or will he? Good point.
