Another update from Nancy, who, despite hand surgery, refuses to quit working.
Just went to lunch at Potbelly and noticed a small “closed for repairs” sign on the door of Chez Gerard. When I got home, I found an e-mail from owner Pascal Cayet:
Tuesday, 12 September 2006, will mark the end of an era when Chez Gérard restaurant closes after 23 years of operation at 4444 McKinney Avenue. We were happy over these 2 decades plus to serve some of the most authentic French cuisine to the dining public. We have always prided ourselves in our food and our service. Unfortunately, due to economic conditions, we are forced to close our doors. The entire staff would like to thank all of our loyal customers for their support throughout the years and wish them the best for the future. So again, thank you for 23 great years!
Makes me cry. At least his Lavendou Bistro Provencal in North Dallas is still rocking. BTW, I’m not eating bon bons. I can’t get the box open.
