I burn a lot of candles in the shop. I have purchased ones that promise to burn for 120 hours but, after a few short work days, have dwindled to an empty glass container.  While at the Dallas Flea last June, I was lucky to have Deann Walterscheid from Hip & Hippie as my neighbor. She told me that she and her sister Julie had been making soy candles for private label and, after many customer requests, had started their very own label, Hip & Hippie.

I bought a candle for the shop and I swear it burned forever.  Every customer that came in commented on how good it smelled. The best part of Hip & Hippie candles (aside from how good they smell, with scents like Rosemary Tea Tree and Vanilla Bean Sweet Orange) is that they are manufactured locally here in Dallas. I love the Boutique Soy Candle in Lavender Lemon Verbena.  Wrapped around the recycled candle container is seeded paper that grows wildflowers and a charm on hemp twine that my 7 year old loves to wear as a bracelet.
