Once upon a time when Craig Rosengarden was 13, he fell in love. Not with girls. With watches.
“When I was growing up, I always had the best Ironman,” says the founder of AvidGolfer magazine, who got his first watch as a bar mitzvah gift.

The 42-year-old’s taste has since matured, upgrading to styles like the dual time zone, travel-friendly Ulysse Nardin GMT +/- Big Date and the Glashutte PanoMaticDate, which looks sharp with a suit. He owns a brightly backlit Franck Muller Geneve Casablanca 10th Anniversary and a rubber-banded Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver, which he wears most often. Rosengarden has 15 so far, yet he still spends hours each night researching the next one to buy (he’s eyeing a new Panerai Ferrari watch). “My wife hates it,” he laughs. “She doesn’t mind the time as much as she minds the kids’ college tuition.”

He has passed his other love onto his son; they golf together every Sunday at Cottonwood Valley. “He’s getting pretty good,” says Rosengarden, who also co-hosts 1310 AM The Ticket’s Saturday morning radio show, “The Teebox.” His son’s college tuition may be gone, but at least they’ll never miss a tee time.
