Out & About: Shopping for Decorative Accents

TargetI admit. I’m not so great at shopping for decorative accessories. Maybe it’s my fear of clutter. But yesterday when I was hastily running through Target to pick up treats for my office gals (wasabe almonds, Twizzlers, and pretzels to be exact), I stopped in my tracks at the latest offerings by my favorite “find anything and everything” store. The price point is so good I won’t feel guilty when my toddler decides to take her frustrations out on my bookshelves and side tables. Jump for my favorite finds from my little adventure.

Clockwise from top left:

This agate bookend is a major score in my opinion. I’ve seen versions around town available for hundreds of dollars. This one is a cool $19.99.

The tortoise shell from Nate Berkus can be hung as a piece of art, placed on top of a stack of books, or set on a side table vignette. Endless possibilities. Get it for $39.99.

Adding green to a space livens it up. I can’t keep plants alive, so I have to opt for succulents or the really good faux stuff. This Snow Echeveria is placed in a wooden planter. I can see it on a breakfast table, side table, or dresser.

This nautical bolo knot figurine from Nate Berkus makes a stack of books look artful and interesting. And $9.99 makes me happy.
