Goes Down Easy Slogan Doesn’t Go Over Well. Deep Ellum Brewing Company recently put a new slogan on its van to advertise its Dallas Blonde brew. The hot pink van had a picture of the beer and the slogan “Goes Down Easy.” People did not like it, saying the brewery was trying to capitalize on rape culture.  John Reardon, founder of the brewery, fought back. But he’s recently announced he will remove the slogan from the van.

Keller Youth Association Gets Rid of Participation Trophies. While a lot of people agree with the Keller Youth Association’s decision to stop giving participation trophies to every kid who plays football in their league, others are upset. They say that if their kid shows up, does the work, and tries, then he should get a trophy. However, the association says that “Life does not give you a participation medal or trophy. Life makes you earn everything you get.”

Restaurateur Sees Potential in Being Tagged. A couple 18-year-old artists put up a mosaic/tiled piece on a wall near the Dumpster of Lee’s Grilled Cheese in Fort Worth. The owner of Lee’s, Lee Perez, liked what he saw. So instead of turning the artists in to the police, he asked them to create a mural on the side of his restaurant. Their work is reminiscent of Atari and Nintendo characters. I, for one, can’t wait to see what they create. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll make their way to Dallas.
