Preston Hollow jeweler Matthew Trent has seen it all in his 30 years of business. He’s watched platinum, yellow gold, and rose gold all take turns as most-coveted metal. He’s witnessed several of his former Uptown office spaces transform into bars like Kung Fu Saloon. He’s created numerous collections for Neiman Marcus, Stanley Korshak, and Tiffany & Co. He’s even made a custom bellybutton ring for Britney Spears.

But as all that has changed, Trent’s passion for handcrafting his eponymous collections and custom treasures—inspired by nature, architecture, or even a client’s pet—has remained intact. His dedication runs deep: the Phoenix native knew he wanted to create jewelry since he was 15. “My mom always told me I would have to move out to Dallas,” Trent says. “It was night and day. People in Dallas just really wear jewelry.”
