Galleria planted the seeds a full 1S months ago. ~ Now after nurturing steady growth, this spring finds Dallas’ signature shopping center in full bloom with scores of new specialty stores, additional covered parking and the much-anticipated arrival of Nordstrom!

When the first Nordstrom in the Southwest comes to town, a welcoming bouquet of roses just isn’t enough, so Galleria is pulling out all the stops with the biggest-ever Primavera Galleria, a celebration of grand openings and gardens.

Gardens in the middle of a shopping center? Well, yes. Primavera greets spring with a burst of color and events that transforms Galleria into Dallas’ grandest greenhouse. Now in its 11th year, Primavera 1996 showcases 14 gardens created by noted area landscape designers. These lavish walk-through gardens feature everything fron lush foliage, trees and flowers to waterfalls, fountains and antique stone. Under Galleria’s glass atrium, Primavera covers a quarter of a mile on Level 1 fron Saks Fifth Avenue to Nordstrom.

Although it may sound a bit like a pasta party, Primavera actually means “spring” in Italian and pays tribute to Galleria’s inspiration, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a 19th-century shopping market covered by a glass-and-iron dome in Milan, Italy.
