Okay, that headline is more than misleading; it’s flat-out inaccurate. But if you see a reporter for a local TV station that you’ve never heard of doing a live shot somewhere around town next week, here’s the deal: our good, strong media partners at CBS 11 are launching a new station called TXA 21 on September 18. Wikipedia already knows about it. So all next week, the TXA 21 folk will be rehearsing. They’ll actually be reporting the news, with anchors at the station and reporters in the field and everything. Only they won’t be broadcasting the news. It’s just practice. Odd concept to a magazine person. Producing a practice issue isn’t exactly cost-effective.
