Logistics Center I, a 1-million-square-foot cross-dock facility located near Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, is open for business. The project, at 2701 W. Bethel Road in Coppell, is a joint venture between Hillwood Investment Properties and Perot Development Co.
Built on 60 acres, the project offers easy access to cargo areas and freight-forwarders at the airport, major highways (Interstates 635 and 35, State Highways 114 and 121, and the President Bush Turnpike), and FedEx and UPS regional hubs. It offers triple Freeport exemption and Foreign Trade Zone benefits.
The project is generating strong interest, and the developers say they plan to break ground on a second building of similar size this summer.
Sean Donohue, CEO of DFW International Airport, said the development underscores the advantages the region offers as a logistics hub. “Over the last four years, DFW has had tremendous growth in international air service, which is also very important for air cargo connections and for logistics companies serving the industry,” he said. “To serve these growing international routes with air cargo, we need facilities like this new logistics center to connect goods through DFW to the world.”
Halff Associates served as the project architect and civil engineer, and Hillwood Construction Services was the general contractor.
