With several projects in varying stages of development, Cawley Partners is kicking off yet another. The company has broken ground on a 250,000-square-foot regional headquarters for Alcatel-Lucent in Plano. It’s being built on 18 acres at the intersection of Independence Parkway and Lotus Drive.

Cawley is doing the project in partnership with PCCP. It was designed by Morrison Dillworth + Walls; Hill & Wilkinson is serving as the general contractor. Construction financing has been provided by Bank of the Ozarks.

“We are excited to be partnering with such a great leader in the telecommunications industry,” said Bill Cawley, CEO of Cawley Partners, in a statement.

The four-story building will include state of the art labs and creative work areas for employees. And, like other recent Cawley projects, it also will include a rooftop terrace.

Since the mid-1990s, Cawley has developed more than 5 million square feet of space in Texas and Northern California. It currently has projects three other DFW projects underway: the 175,000-square-foot Legacy Center, the 200,000-square-foot Tollway Center, and a 60,000-square-foot build-to-suit for the American College of Emergency Physicians.

The new Alcatel-Lucent complex is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2016.
