Last week we learned that Kent Rathbun would open his fourth Jasper’s in the region, at CityLine, KDC’s city-within-a-city in Richardson. Now comes word that Coal Vines has committed to the development as well.

The 186-acre mixed-use project in Richardson is anchored, of course, by a 2 million-square-foot campus for State Farm and a 500,000-square-foot office complex for Raytheon.

Colin Fitzgibbons with developer KDC said Coal Vines will bring “an element of fun” to CityLine’s State Street. “The patio seating and excellent food will be a huge draw for people working and living in CityLine, and those in the surrounding communities,” he said.

The venue also will include a Coal Vines Market, for stop-and-go customers who don’t have the time or inclination to dine in. Joseph Palladino, owner of Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, created the concept for Uptown Coal Vines pizza and wine bistro with restaurateur Phil Romano. He said the Richardson location also will offer catering and delivery services.

The restaurant will sit adjacent to CityLine Plaza and is scheduled to open the summer of 2015.
