Texas Health Resources is coming to Prosper. The faith-based, nonprofit health system broke ground last Thursday on a new 65,000-square-foot, $20 million outpatient facility. The center, known as Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Prosper, is to be an extension of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano.
“Prosper has been on our radar,” said Becky Tucker, vice president of integrated health campuses at Texas Health Resources. “It’s a growing and emerging community.” According to Tucker, Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Prosper will also serve surrounding cities in Collin County, a region home to more than 850,000 residents.
The new center will feature a 24-hour emergency room that is equipped with an advanced imaging center including X-ray, MRI, CT, digital mammography, and ultrasound. It will offer physician offices, physical therapy, a fitness center, mammogram services, and a variety of outpatient services.
“We’re placing a relatively large facility with not only physician office space, but a whole list of outpatient services,” Tucker said. “We really are the first in the area. We’ve spent a lot of time getting to know and working with the city of Prosper.”
Fitness is a key component of how Texas Health Resources reaches out to the community. The fitness provides a service that patients can use to kickstart a healthy lifestyle, says Tucker. “Fitness is a part of wellness and prevention, so we have these facilities to promote [that].”
Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Prosper will also provide behavioral health services with a focus on women and adolescent care and include educational classes designed to suit the needs of the community. “Behavioral health is something that is desperately needed…it is one service we tailor to [each] particular community,” Tucker said.
Prosper will be the third city to be home to such an outpatient center; two other care and wellness centers are operating in Burleson and Willow Park. Located on the northeast side of Highway 380 and the future Mahard Parkway in Prosper, Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Prosper is projected to open in the fall of 2016.

The facility will employ about 65 people. It’s part of a 10.45 acre parcel of land that will eventually be home to a mixed use development that will bring office space, retail, restaurants, entertainment, and residences to the rapidly growing city of Prosper.
