Breaking news–the bad kind–from sources at the DMN. Department heads are meeting now to talk over voluntary buyouts for newsroom staff. The early number is about 30, but staffers think that’s way low. If not enough people volunteer, layoffs may come later. Supposedly the targeted reporters/editors will have a few weeks to make up their minds.
