ZAC CRAIN KICKS IT AT HIS KICK-OFF PARTY

|

It’s official: my good friend Zac Crain is running for mayor. He gave his announcement speech last night at the Sons of Hermann Hall, between rockin’ sets from Shibboleth and Sorta. The event was well-attended, with many of Zac’s media friends, music friends, artist/picture-taking friends, and more all there to support him. The Observer‘s Robert Wilonsky, who already blogged about last night, did a fine job of introducing Zac, opting for the 30-second version rather than the eight minute one he’d prepared–he also opted for a higher level of difficulty; “mayoral run” is harder to pronounce the more you drink.

Zac then treated everyone present with the reasons for his campaign. I can’t say Zac is a great public speaker, but I think he’ll get better. And he doesn’t have to do a lot of talking if he brings his kid Issac to every event. The kid is gosh-darn cute, and he’s the main reason Zac is running: to make a better Dallas for his son’s sake. For our sake, too, I guess. If you want more Zac, check out the Crain for Mayor site. Rock the vote.
