What I’m Watching: The Rangers’ Regular-Season Finale

The Wings swept the Atlanta Dream to advance to the second round of the WNBA playoffs for the first time since the team relocated to Dallas, the Rangers swept the Mariners to reclaim the AL West lead, and TCU defeated SMU to bring the Iron Skillet back to Fort Worth.

Here’s what I’m watching this week:

Friday, 9/29—Aces at Wings, Game 38:30 p.m., ESPN 2

Down 0-1 in the series, the Wings face an uphill climb to get past the defending champion Aces and reach their first WNBA Finals. This game might be the pivot point for any hope of Dallas executing Justin Carter’s blueprint for an upset—or a game it must win to avoid a sweep.

Sunday, 10/1—Rangers at Mariners2:10 p.m., Bally Sports Southwest

Will the Rangers’ fate be sealed by the regular-season finale? Perhaps. Then again, perhaps not, because if this season has taught us anything, it’s that no outcome is off the table with this team. StrongSide will have coverage throughout the week as Texas seeks to return to the postseason for the first time since 2016.

Sunday, 10/1—Cowboys versus Patriots3:25 p.m., FOX

One week after the Cowboys stifled a talented Jets running game, the Cardinals gashed Dallas for 222 yards on the ground in what became a disastrous road loss. Can the leaky run defense plug enough holes in time to stop old friend and new Patriot Ezekiel Elliott?
