Every family has their own tradition when it comes to Christmas trees. (Or perhaps you call them Festivus trees?) Whether you like real or fake, we’ve got advice on where you should get your tree this season. After all, you’ve only got 16 more days to deck the halls.

  1. North Haven Gardens. This is where our gardening expert, Leslie Halleck, goes to pick out her holiday trees (this year she tried a new variety called “Burton Blue”). Bonus: If you order ahead, they will deliver it to your home, which means no sticky sap stuck to your car.
  2. Whole FoodsGrab dinner and a tree at the same time—it couldn’t be simpler.
  3. Walls Family Farm. If you’re dreaming of chopping down your own tree this year, be prepared for a drive. We recommend Walls Family Farm in Terrell, Texas, which is less than an hour from our office. If you want fresh wreaths, call an hour or two ahead and they’ll have them waiting for you.
  4. Ruibal’s. This downtown nursery is a go-to spot to find any sort of seasonal plants and decorations—pumpkins, flowers, and Christmas trees included.
  5. Holiday Warehouse. If faux is more your style, stop by this Plano shop for trees of all shapes and sizes that are guaranteed to not die the week before Christmas. Bonus: the trees already come lit, so all you have to worry about are ornaments.
