First Lady Michelle Obama is reaching out to mothers in the midst of a final push to get Americans to sign up for insurance before the Affordable Care Act’s March 31 deadline.

As POLITICO reported, Mrs. Obama will meet on Tuesday in Washington D.C. with groups that target women who live in low-income areas with high-uninsured rates. The administration has added more nuance in which demographics it targets ahead of the deadline to register for insurance. Last week, President Barack Obama appeared on three major Spanish-speaking networks to reach more Latinos, a group that has lagged in signing up under the ACA.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius visited the Center for Black Women’s Wellness in Atlanta on Monday to tout the ACA.

So far, 4 million residents have signed up for Obamacare. The goal is 6 million. As Politico notes, the administration believes mothers can help steer their family’s healthcare decisions and bolster overall numbers.
