With apologies to Adam, whose idea of aggressive reporting is to roll down his car window, here’s a photo from our own Jeremy Chesnutt of Biblical Arts curator Scott Peck, who was reportedly trying to fight the blaze with a fire extinguisher when Dallas Fire personnel arrived. Rumors on the scene said the fire “looked and acted like” arson in the way it spread so quickly. Thanks to 100 degree temperatures outside, the heat inside was so intense that firefighters could only be in for 15-20 minutes at a time. The Biblical Arts Center was built after a donation of land and money from Mattie Caruth Byrd in the 1970s.
