Someone Help This Poor Girl: Vegan Lunch In Plano

Nancy received this SOS late last night:

My friend Stacey has a friend from college coming to Plano this week on business for a short stay.  Although we are both close to being vegetarians, we are lost on this one.  My first suggestion was Dallas, but when I found out she only had time for lunch…I was lost!

IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE???  Please Help!!!

  • Guys, see if this site won’t work for you:

    http://blog.dallasvegan.com/

Also, try Cafe Istanbul in the Shops at Legacy. Wonderful food. Not sure they are strictly vegan, but they can probably accomodate you. Their URL is:

    http://www.cafe-istanbul.net

That should at least get you started.

Most Thai and Indian restaurants can accommodate vegans, if you tell them you are a strict vegetarian (no egg or milk products). Jasmine Thai and Chettinaad Palace are good places to start.

  • Suma Veggie Garden in Richardson is Vegan and it’s WONDERFUL! It’s kind of a hole in the wall, but they have lunch buffet that is great. You’ve also go Spiral Diner in Oak Cliff, they have some vegan options.

  • There are actually two places in Richardson – Veggie Garden on Arapaho to the west of 75, and Suma Veggie on Arapaho to the east of 75. Both of them are Chinese food buffets for lunch.

Those are your best bets up in that area. As Kirk says, many international restaurants can cater to vegetarians/vegans – and that’s all I know about up that way.
