My Favorite Poolside Products: 8 Summer Essentials

Despite the fact that I told you I usually look like a ragamuffin at the pool, as a beauty junkie and treasure hunter shopper, I have a few must-haves for chic pool play.  Also, thank you for your suggestions, as I’ll be adding them to my huge beach tote. (Okay, duffel bag.)

1. Norma Kamali halterneck wrap swimsuit, $285
For your fat days, skinny days, and I-don’t-feel-like-measuring-up-to-the-20-something-SMU-girl days, this suit is sexy and sophisticated.
Where to Buy: Neiman Marcus or net-a-porter.com

2. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent, $57
The formula is a mix between a perfume and an oil, so it leaves behind subtle fragrance and a scintillating glow.
Where to Buy: An Estee Lauder counter near you.

3. Calypso St. Barth Lourdes silk parachute skirt, $250
I love a flowing maxi skirt over swimwear for a quick look. The new parachute skirts from Calypso St. Barth let you tie up the ends for a shorter, gathered look, or, ideally, for digging toes into the sand.
Where to Buy: Calypso St. Barth

4. Missoni Home terry towel, $125
Nothing makes you look cooler faster than rolling out a designer towel on your lounge chair. The new Missoni summer collection can help you achieve that.
Where to Buy: Nest

5. Emi-Jay hair ties, set of five, $10.99
When three-digit temperatures force you to abandon your disdain for stranger danger and chlorine, you might find yourself battling to remove rubberbands from your tangled locks. Skip that. Toss in these stretchy ribbon ties instead.
Where to Buy: Store all over DFW. Full list here.

6. Fekkai Beach Waves spray, $25, and After Sun Daily Mask, $25
When you don’t have time to shampoo post-pool, spritz in Beach Waves for delicious smelling locks and surfer chic waves. When you do have time for a wash, go for the After Sun deep conditioner and detangler to replenish your mane from sun damage, chlorine, and harsh salt water.
Where to Buy: Frederic Fekkai

7. Cool-It Caddy Icepops coolant case, $24.95
I snickered at this kitschy case when it was pitched to me, but, hey, I’ve got lip balms, sunscreen sticks, and a flask to protect.
Where to Buy: online

8. Shauns Shades Elie aviators, $240
If you’re in the market for new sunnies, go with this buy-one-give-one-line. For your purchase (Elie aviators, please), a person in need will get an eye exam and prescription lenses.
Where to Buy: Piermarini and Original Octane
