Having waded through all the escort ads, searching for Schutze’s column this week in the Observer, and not having found it, I asked him what was up. His response:
The piece I would have written this week was suppressed by the authorities on account of my absence due to a sinus infection and bad back at the end of last week. I personally will not stand by and watch myself be ignored and left out merely because of not having written anything. They could have written something, the lazy bastards, and put my name on it. “Scandalous blank blank Citizens Council blank blank possible end of life as we know it blank blank this means you.” How hard can it be? Anyway, I’m going to have to write the damn thing myself, I guess for next week. But thanks for asking.
