Now’s the time to enjoy summer fruits and vegetables to their fullest! The market has juicy, bright blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, peaches and apricots that are ripe and ready to eat. Also, Cary’s Best Blueberries have returned for the blueberry season. It’s also the perfect time for peppers, squashes, cucumbers, onions, beans and peas, all of which benefit from the present weather conditions.

Aside from the usual, a market-to-kitchen cooking demonstration will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the south side of the pavilion. The market’s French macaroon and chocolate truffles vendor will make olive oil truffles with a white chocolate. Get there early to ensure yourself a seat!

If you’re a frequent flier who’s accustomed to making big purchases (literally), then you’re in luck. This weekend, the market will introduce Veggie Valet, a free service for customers with heavy purchases. Simply place your purchases in a bin at the Veggie Valet booth on the southwest corner of the market, and get a number. When ready to leave, drive your vehicle up to the loading area along West Main Street and the volunteers will load your car.
