On the heels of securing an 80,000-square-foot lease from Vinson & Elkins, one of the country’s largest law firms, RED Development has won another big tenant for The Union, its new project in Uptown. Market sources say the accounting firm Weaver, whose Dallas office currently is on Merit Drive in North Dallas, has leased a couple of floors in the project, for a total of about 60,000 square feet.

Scott Morse of Citadel Partners represented Weaver in its search.

The Union is the first Dallas project for RED Development, which is led locally by Paul Rowsey IV. Totaling about 800,000 square feet, it will sit at Field Street and Cedar Springs Road in Uptown and open in 2017. Plans call for a residential tower and office tower above parking, restaurants, and retail—including a 60,000-square-foot Tom Thumb grocery store.

The 22-floor office tower will provide about 417,000 square feet of space. The 23-story residential high-rise will include 309 apartments, a 25,000-square-foot shared amenity deck, and 21,000 square feet of green space.

Vinson & Elkins will occupy the top three floors of the office tower. It was represented in the deal by Phil Puckett and Harlan Davis of CBRE.

John Brownlee and Sarah Hinkley of Peloton work with Rowsey to market and lease The Union.
