Building on more than 1 million square feet of leases secured at AllianceTexas in the first quarter of 2013, Hillwood has secured a big lease from Saddle Creek Logistics for a new center in Roanoke. The privately held company signed on for 287,000 square feet in Gateway 50 at 743 Henrietta Creek Road.
Mike Berry, president of Hillwood Properties and recent NTCAR Hall of Fame inductee, said the 17,000-acre AllianceTexas is well-positioned to take advantage of improved market conditions.
“First quarter activity continues to follow 2012’s pace, and is a good sign that the industrial market is continuing its rebound,” he said.
Gary Lindsey of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank worked with Saddle Creek senior vice president Robert Pericht on the transaction. Pericht said the third-party logistics firm has experienced strong growth in a number of markets.
“The Dallas-Fort Worth market is certainly one of those,” he said. “This new AllianceTexas building puts us in a great spot to continue that growth.”
Reid Goetz was the in-house leasing representative for Hillwood Properties. Last year, the company transacted more than 5 million square feet of new leases and renewals at Alliance.
