The Dallas-Fort Worth medical community has been hard at work developing and testing new treatment methods for COVID-19, making headway toward a vaccine, and conducting numerous trials that have led to improved treatment methods that save lives. The newest challenge is the distribution of the different versions of the vaccines. Can they be distributed fast enough? How will we decide who gets the vaccines first?

On Jan. 27, D CEO Healthcare will host experts from some of the leading medical research organizations in North Texas to answer these questions and more. Developments connected to COVID-19 treatment and vaccines are constantly changing, with new obstacles and questions emerging daily.

The discussion will cover what we have learned about treating the disease since the beginning of the pandemic and what obstacles researchers and clinicians face when looking for answer. We will also look at the development and regional distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as what businesses, the public, and healthcare organizations need to consider as the vaccine rolls out over the next year.

The virtual event will be presented from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and include a insightful conversation with some of the best minds in the business, including:

Dr. James Cutrell, associate professor of internal medicine with a focus on infectious diseases. He is also medical director for antimicrobial stewardship at UTSW university hospitals and clinics, and director of the infectious diseases fellowship program.

Dr. Robert Gottlieb, an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist at Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital, Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, and The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano.

Dr. Sylvia Trent-Adams, a senior vice president and the chief strategy officer at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and former deputy surgeon general of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
