New cases much lower today in Dallas County as vaccine rationing plans are released by the state of Texas.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 541 new COVID-19 cases on Monday with seven deaths.


A Texas health department panel released new COVID-19 vaccine rationing guidelines for distribution. Similar to previous expectations, Governor Abbott confirmed that hospital, nursing home, and other health workers will be the first to receive a vaccine, The Dallas Morning News reported.


Over 8,500 Texans tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, an increase by over 2,000 cases compared to the previous week. There were 8,000 patients hospitalized and nearly 90 confirmed deaths, The Texas Tribune reported.


Tarrant County saw over 1,100 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the county total to nearly 93,000 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. There have been 830 deaths due to the pandemic, KERA News reported.
