Dallas-based investment groups Mt. Vernon and Green Park & Golf Ventures combined in a $3.2 million fundraising round for Health Wildcatters graduate Orb Health, which is now based in Phoenix.

The Series A funding will go toward expanding the Orb platform, which helps providers and patients connect during chronic care management. The cloud-based software integrates electronic health records and real time data from wearable trackers, patient engagement tools, and other data sources to provide a more rounded image of an individual’s health. The company previously raised $650,000 in March 2015, not long after graduating from Health Wildcatters.

“This funding is an important validation of our progress and vision for a new standard of technology-enabled, patient-centered collaborative care that ultimately advances healing,” read a statement from Orb Health CEO and co-founder Paul Oran. “Providers are under enormous pressure to engage patients, leverage technology and comply with ever-changing healthcare regulations. Orb Health makes it easy to succeed both financially and on behalf of patients.”
