A Perfect Arrangement

It’s a cute bright little floral studio art gallery. It doesn’t quite know what to call itself, but it’s content,” says former Avant Garden floral designer Haile Wossen of his equivocal new workshop, Anthos, the Greek word for bloom. Wossen chose the appellation to honor his Greek mother and his family living in Greece. Nestled inside a historic 1915 bungalow on State Street, the shop serves as a studio for his floral creations, a meeting place for his clients, and a gallery for ceramists and artists. Canvases by Raychael Stine, consigned by Road Agent gallery, and plastic-and-wire sculptures by Titus O’Brien make up the current collection. “I’m a modernist,” Wossen says. “I like contemporary, clean things, but I’m completely charmed by this street.” By appointment. Anthos. 2610 ½ State St. 469-360-3648.
