Dallas Mavericks Part Ways With GM Gersson Rosas After Three Months

|

Well. I’m glad I didn’t include him in my preview of the Mavericks’ 2013-14 season. ESPN’s Marc Stein hasn’t heard a reason yet, and I assume it won’t be anything shocking. I mean, maybe Rosas — only 35, native of Colombia, started at the bottom like Drake — was running some sort of anti-Shark Tank Tumblr on the side or something, but I doubt it. Maybe he left because he couldn’t find any good Colombian food in Dallas. Is there good Colombian food in Dallas? That sounds pretty good right now. Maybe he got tired of holding meetings with Mark Cuban on his Stairmaster. Maybe Cuban and the rest of the organization got tired of misspelling Rosas’ first name. I don’t know. Maybe we were all confused and it was just a summer internship and he’s got to get back to school. Maybe it’s my fault. I was in the process of setting up an interview with him, just like I was in the process of setting up an interview with Delonte West before he was bounced off the roster. I could be a jinx. I don’t want to know if I am, but I could be. But don’t tell me. Maybe he was tired of talking about ping-pong with coach Rick Carlisle. Maybe Dirk is still doing his “It’s game time!” bit in the office for real and it became tiresome. But I don’t really see how, because that is kind of great. Maybe if it happened every day. I do get tired of most of Tim’s office bits, especially that time he kept saying “I like tacos” from that commercial.

Anyway. Please let Cuban and Donnie Nelson know I am 1) available and 2) a perfect candidate for the opening.
