When creating our annual list of Dallas abodes to crown “Most Beautiful,” we can be pretty shallow. We stick to the surface level, never digging deep enough to see what’s behind that ivy-covered façade or perfectly pitched roof.

To be fair, homes can’t feel objectified (or can they?…), and a beautiful exterior doesn’t guarantee an equally attractive interior design. But on occasion, we discover a true beauty inside and out. Such is the case with 4229 Arcady Avenue.

We heralded this 20s-era Highland Park home in 2016 for its French Eclectic style and its J. Crew-esque beauty, but the real treats here are the beautifully proportioned rooms, the foyer’s striking staircase, the gourmet kitchen’s skylight, and the aptly-named sunroom with an impressive wet bar and a view of the beautiful landscaped grounds. If the minty shudders out front suit your fancy, you’ll feel affection for the similarly-hued molding throughout, as well as the master bedroom’s lemon meringue-colored walls.

There’s more of course, including stained-glass French doors and a wine storage room that puts the aforementioned wet bar to shame. But today, we’ll use 4229 Arcady Avenue as a unexpectedly profound reminder that what’s inside does count, and often won’t disappoint.
