Sex at the Studio Movie Grill

|

I was more concerned about what was on the small screen last night (Hello? Lost? Anyone, anyone?) than the silver screen, but a Red Sox-lovin’ FBvian has a report from the Sex and the City premiere at the very un-Manhattan-like Studio Movie Grill. Jump for it.

It was a sold-out show and a packed house for a special presentation of the new Sex and the City movie. The crowd–not surprisingly dominated by glammed-up girls–arrived at the theater to a red-carpet welcome. And, quite appropriate for the film, the whole shindig was sponsored by Ciroq Vodka. Various cocktails–vodka mixtures based on the characters of the show, including a Miranda, Charlotte, Carrie, Samantha, and, one that really packed a punch, the Big–were served in pastel pink and blue martini glasses with light-up promotional ice cubes. After a buffet dinner and time for small talk, the lights dimmed and the crowd cheered. (Whoever arranged the previews was aware of the dominant female presence as featured films included Mama Mia, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, and The Accidental Husband.) It’s a really cute movie. I cried more than I laughed, though.
