On Sunday, August 10, from 10 am-6 pm, GermanDeli in Southlake celebrates its third annual Kartoffel Festival, in honor of the mighty potato, a staple in German cuisine. Expect food samplings, door prizes, cooking demos, “Kartoffel Kwiz” potato trivia quiz, potato cooking contest, and live music from the Alpine Village Band. Recipes for the cooking contest will be judged by a panel of three German chefs, and the winner will be crowned Kartoffel König (King) or Königin (Queen). And, yes, I know the picture is not of a potato. It’s beer and bratwurst! Delicious.
