Celebrity autobiographies are nothing new, but ever since Barbara Bush penned Millie’s White House memories, they’ve taken some new directions. Enter now Troy Aikman into the leagues of those who want to share their story. The twist is that you’ll find Troy’s tome in the kids’ section. Things Change, to be released by Taylor Publishing in April, is aimed at the 8 to 12 crowd, but may seem more like apicture book: In just 40 pages we’ll see 30 illustrations and 2 5 photographs. But don’t worry.

Your kids will learn a lot about Troy’s life, including the revelations that Troy once dreamed of playing professional baseball, that he finished his rookie season with the worst rating of all starting NEL quarterbacks, and that, despite the taunts of classmates, he once entered and won ahigh-school typing contest. Aikman says that the book will help kids see that dreams are attainable and setbacks only temporary. All proceeds will go to children’s charities. Great news, Troy. Did you type it yourself!
