The Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council has partnered with Orlando, Fla.-based Vestagen Protective Technologies to integrate Vestagen’s tech-savvy healthcare apparel into the North Texas market.

Vestagen’s fabric reportedly combines “fluid repellency and antimicrobial technologies into comfortable healthcare worker scrubs and lab coats.” The active barrier apparel has been endorsed by the American Hospital Association for minimizing risks associated with unanticipated exposures occurring in hospital and medical environments and for containing an antimicrobial agent to inhibit bacteria growth.

DFWHC believes this will benefit North Texas hospital workers, as hospital administrations have required staffs to wear uniforms with active barrier technology to mitigate exposures to bodily fluids that can contribute to germ transmission.

W. Stephen Love, president and CEO of DFWHC, said in a statement: “Vestagen’s solution stands out for its potential to contribute to the culture of safety that is a concern for all of our North Texas healthcare institutions. We are thrilled to have them join the DFWHC team.”
