Closing Arguments in Arochi Trial Today. Prosecutors rested their case yesterday against Enrique Arochi, who is accused of kidnapping Christina Morris from a Plano parking garage. Morris was never found. The judge in the case will allow cameras into the courtroom today for closing arguments. Then the jury does its work.

Police Association President to Retire. DPD veteran Ron Pinkston announced he will retire, stepping down the same day next month as Chief David Brown. Seems like he’s getting out before they make changes to the pension, whose chairman has asked that members not make any hasty decisions. Quitting is popular around Dallas these days.

Richardson ISD Slows Its Roll on New White Rock Area School. Folks north of the lake have been going nuts over a planned new school and the resulting redrawn school boundaries. The district appears to have heard their lamentations. Before going any further, it is seeking more community input, and it will hire an outside consultant.
