Dallas is busy with family friendly activities this weekend. Grab the kids and plan a weekend of crawfish, hot dogs, and a fun run.
FRIDAY
Head over to NYLO’s poolside in Irving to “Grill & Chill” with hot dogs, chips, corn, and a Pabst beer draft. There will be plenty of frozen margaritas for $5 and cold draft beers for $4 to go around. $12 per person
SATURDAY
Get your running shoes on and head to the White Rock Community Church tomorrow, April 12, for the Promise of Peace’s 5th annual Eco Fest and Family Fun Run. There will be plenty of activities such as easter egg decorating, food, music, and local vendors. The fun run will start at 11 a.m. Register for the fun run by paying a donation ($10 per adult and $6 per child) online at the Promise of Peace website. The Eco Fest will begin at noon and last until 4 p.m. The new reflective butterfly garden’s dedication ceremony will also be at noon.
The 9th Annual No Tie Dinner & Dessert event benefitting the AIDS Services of Dallas Organization (ASD) will be this Saturday, April 12 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Dinner is hosted by individual sponsors. At the end of the night everyone will come together at the Frontiers of Flight Museum for dessert, entertainment, and dancing. Each guest will be asked to donate a $50 donation to put toward ASD. SUNDAY
Crawfish lovers will be making their way to the King Creole Crawfish Festival this Sunday, April 13 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Chicken Scratch. Purchase a $15 ticket online ($20 at the door) for all-you-can-eat Creole tastings and live entertainment. In case you were dying for a Creole-themed tattoo, John Arseneau of Elm St. Tattoo will be at the festival to make your dream come true.
