Local gastronomes who take their subject seriously have cleared their calendars for November 6-9. when the American Institute of Wine $ Food presents its fourth national Conference on Gastronomy at the Hotel Crescent Court. For $525 ($475 for institute members), conferees get access to seven seminars, three dinners, two lunches, two receptions, a tasting, and three breakfasts. An all-star assortment of food and wine authorities-including Julia Child, Wolfgang Puck, Hugh Johnson, Jacques Pepin, Marian Burros of the New York Times, and Richard Olney. who rarely makes such appearances-will be on hand, in the kitchen or at the podium, for information call 363-9568 or (415) 362-0745.
