Texas Health Presbyterian Plano has named Josh Floren as its president, a post he’s held on an interim basis since the start of the year.

Floren has been with the hospital since July 2013, when he became its vice president of professional and support services. He was named interim president in January following the departure of former president Mike Evans. In his first role at Texas Health Plano, Floren oversaw ancillary and support services that included radiology, rehabilitation, pharmacy, its orthopedic joint program, and nutrition services.

A spokesperson says he was “instrumental in the opening of” the Texas Health Ben Hogan Concussion Center Plano and the Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine Plano location at Toyota Stadium in nearby Frisco. Under his watch, Texas Health Plano also expanded its imaging services, becoming the first facility in the Dallas area to offer the low-dose and 3-D imaging technology known as EOS.

“While Josh has only been with Texas Health Resources for a short period of time, his commitment to advance care delivery, by working collaboratively with physicians on the medical staff and other caregivers, will enable Texas Health Plano to continue to lead the North Texas market in improving the health of the communities we serve,” read a statement from Brett McClung, executive vice president and North Zone operations leader at Texas Health Resources.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is one of the Arlington-based system’s best performing. The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit that judges the safety of hospitals throughout the country, has awarded it an ‘A’ grade since spring of 2012.

Floren earned his Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Texas A&M University and his masters in health administration from St. Louis’ Washington University.
