five questions – dr. kate naumes

|

Not too long ago, Dr. Kate Naumes weighed in with a post on how to keep the kiddos healthy during flu season using natural remedies. Dr. Naumes is a naturopathic doctor that works with women and children, showing them how to use various holistic methods to maintain and improve their health. I’ve always been intrigued by (and a big believer in) the practice of holistic medicine and was eager to learn more about this former Oregonian, now an Oak Cliff resident. So without further adieu, here’s a peek into her world….

On heavy rotationUntil the Light of the Morning by Essie Jan.  Her lullabies calm kids to sleep and it’s music you’d want to listen to even without the kids. Also I Mean To Live Here Still  by David Karsten Daniels & Fight the Big Bull

On your nightstand– A few books by Rudolph Steiner and Maria Montessori; I am fascinated with how children learn. I also love to read cookbooks, my favorites right now are In the Green Kitchen and The Art of Simple Food both by Alice Waters. (I know I’m on the right track when my husband finds a recipe he can do himself!)

Always in your handbag BabyLegs leg warmers.  Perfect for my son’s legs (and for my arms in a pinch)

Go-to outfit– Either Lululemon work out clothes (with an apron over it when I am at home – makes for many less loads of laundry!) or an a-line black skirt from Anthropologie and a white blouse or t-shirt.

Recent diy projects– We live in an apartment so we have to get creative about space. We have 2 small containers for our medicinal herb garden and a worm bin on our patio for composting old food scraps!
