Yesterday, Dallas’s theater world and Horton Foote family members celebrated the late-playwright’s birthday and official kicked off the theater festival the city has undertaken in his honor. Now, the first review from the Horton Foote Festival is in: Lawson Taitte on Stage West’s Talking Pictures:
Seeing Talking Pictures at Stage West made me wonder why they don’t just pass a law requiring Texas theaters to perform more Horton Foote, a common reaction when I see a good production of one of his plays. . . . If the Foote Festival keeps bringing us performances like these, we’ll be fortunate indeed.
