THUMBS UP to Oak Cliff Councilman CHARLES TANDY for dealing the final blow that put 10-4-1 out of its misery. By refusing to support a revised map intended to curry favor with the U.S. Justice Department, Dr. Tandy cleared the way (at last!) for the city to move forward with a new election system. Whatever Tandy’s reasons were (and frankly they didn’t seem to make much sense), it’s time to get on with it.
