Following a successful hosting of a temporary Louis Vuitton store in October, the new lofty space above the Highland Park Village Starbucks (a top five Starbucks in Dallas, no doubt) is home to a new pop-up: Max Mara.

Through this Saturday, November 23, the Italian luxury brand (which is still privately owned) has brought their iconic Teddy Bear coats (made with faux fur, pure camel hair, and silk), cashmere beanies, quilted Cube jackets, and silk blouses to Dallas, offering the first standalone place to shop Max Mara since their Galleria store closed its doors in 2010. In a less expected pop-up move, the brand has also brought a visual installation: massive, colorful Max Mara teddy bears can be found posing (and ready to be posed with) throughout the edited racks.

We might have Tina Craig (aka @bagsnob) to thank for the more dynamic shopping experience. The U Beauty founder hosted a luncheon alongside global brand ambassador Maria Giulia Maramotti to welcome Max Mara to Dallas yesterday afternoon, where she shared that she encouraged the team to “bring the bears.” A cocktail event was held later that evening, with a portion of the night’s proceeds benefiting the Dallas Museum of Art and Art Ball 2020.

Presumably, someone will eventually lease the airy space with killer views of Highland Park Country Club’s golf course, but for now, it’s nice to have a rotation of luxury brands setting up shop — even for just a few days at a time.
