Recently (okay, more like the last two years), I’ve been obsessed with these Holland Lops bunnies. And since I’m calling today Furry Friday, you get the joy of sharing my obsession, too. May all you SideDish readers have a very grumpy bunny weekend.
Friday
If I’ve learned anything from Vogue‘s September issue this year, it’s this: Hair is the new accessory. Don a wig at Wiggin’ Out for MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) tonight at Dee Lincoln’s for $25. The first 100 wig-wearing people get swag bags.
Go rogue tonight and join the Rogue boys for a beer dinner at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse. It’s four courses, and it starts at 6 p.m.
Saturday
Director Brandon Castillo is hosting the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market out on the 2800 block of Main Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Denton’s Boxcar Bandits will be out there playing some bluegrass while La Grange pops up with a bar right across the street. Make sure and get some end-of-the-summer barbecue from Zen Bistro as well.
The annual Dallas Flea Market is back at the south side of Lamar from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.! There will be food trucks, so when you need a break from all the shopping that Raya Ramsey suggests, you can grab a bite to eat. My friend Hayley Juster will also be there with her booth called Jade Wolf Art, so stop by and take a look at her acrylic paintings. I’m sure one of you needs a new somethin’ somethin’ to hang in your living room.

If Mary See of See’s Candies were still alive, she’d be turning 158 this year. In honor of her birthday, See’s Candies is doing a special promotion on September 15 and 16 only. Customers shopping in retail stores or online can receive a $5 discount on $30 purchases or more. Yippee!

I bet you didn’t know this, but Nosh Euro Bistro in Plano started serving brunch for the first time last Sunday. It runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and you can drop by or call for reservations if you’re inclined to munch on beef tenderloin benedicts and potato latkes.
Director Elizabeth Dry puts her heart into the Promise of Peace community garden, and if you’re moved by what she’s doing for the kids in East Dallas, join her at the “Fresh-tival” she’s hosting from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Libertine Bar. Enjoy drinks, small plates, and the great outdoors where a small market of fresh fruits and veggies will be set up. Proceeds go to POP garden.
