HOT OFF THE PRESS

|

FORT WORTH-Capturing the essence of Fort Worth might sound like a lofty goal, but that’s just what the editors of Aura are doing with their down-to-earth approach to the city’s newest magazine.

Editor-in-chief Rosemary Lourcery says that the magazine, which will be on the newsstands this month, is similar to People magazine, with a slant on social events, politics and civic issues.

“Its focus will be on the people who make Fort Worth special,” says Lourcery. “We’ll feature the city’s movers and shakers, the big and small businesses and all the personalities.”

The bimonthly magazine is published by the same people who brought Longhorn Scene magazine to Fort Worth, but this latest venture is a real departure from Scene, a magazine the Lourcerys have published for five years.

Latryl Ohendalski. formerly of the Fort Worth Press, has been named editor of Aura, and Lourcery says that some of the bylines in the magazine will be familiar to Star-Telegram readers.
