Neiman Marcus opened its store at Main and Ervay in formal ceremonies on October 3, 1927. Civic leader Mrs. Sawnie Aldredge accepted the store for the “women of Dallas,” while Mayor R. E. Burt said the store was truly the key to the heart of Dallas womanhood.
